Use Case

The Golden Gypsy

Social Media Campaign

The Golden Gypsy is a small retail store on the coast of Florida priding itself on global goods and attention to developing artists. Their grand opening was hampered by a hurricane that swept through the city of St. Augustine. They approached A Great Idea seeking to find a way to support the local community in recovery from the storm while also drawing attention to their unique brand and product. A Great Idea delivered a social media strategy called “10 to the Rescue” using Facebook, Instagram and a targeted email which provided awareness messaging for local shelters addressing abandoned or hurt pets supported with a percent of profits donated to these charities. A Great Idea also provided all the art direction, graphic design and copywriting for the campaign. Local media took notice and without any paid media support, news and social media influencers threw their support behind the endeavor securing substantial reach and interest.

  • An Emotional, Substantial Appeal

For the leadership of The Golden Gypsy, this was an opportunity to engage the region and also incorporate the brand’s commitment to a better world fueled by awareness, empathy and creativity. Social media visuals aimed to be heavy on the warm and fuzzy but the calls to action were clear and backed by a commitment of in-store staff. The campaign proved successful in its two-week run that it was extended an additional couple weeks because many consumers were engaged in the campaign.
